''In the Wind'' is the third album by the American folk music trio Peter, Paul & Mary, released in 1963 (see 1963 in music). It was reissued on audio CD in 1990. ''In the Wind'' was so successful that when it hit #1 on the Billboard album charts, it caused their two previous albums to re-enter the Top 10 as well. The album was released in October 1963, a few months before the arrival of the Beatles heralded the British Invasion. At this point in musical history the folk music revival was in full flower. The lead-off single of Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" became world famous when it sold a phenomenal three hundred thousand copies in the first week of release. On July 13, 1963, it reached number two on the ''Billboard'' pop chart, with sales exceeding one million copies.〔Sounes, ''Down The Highway: The Life Of Bob Dylan'', p.135〕 It spent five weeks atop the easy listening chart. The second single from the album, "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right", another song by Dylan, peaked at number 2 on the Adult Contemporary chart and number 9 on the Pop Singles chart. At the Grammy Awards of 1964, their recording of "Blowin' in the Wind" won the Best Folk Recording and Best Performance by a Vocal Group. == Track listing == # "Very Last Day" (Peter Yarrow, Noel Stookey) # "Hush-A-Bye" (traditional; arranged by Peter Yarrow, Noel Stookey) # "Long Chain On" (Jimmie Driftwood) # "Rocky Road" (Peter Yarrow, Noel Stookey) # "Tell It on the Mountain" (arranged by Mary Travers, Peter Yarrow, Milton Okun, Noel Stookey) # "Polly Von" aka Polly Vaughn and Molly Bawn () (Mary Travers, Peter Yarrow, Noel Stookey) # "Stewball" (Mary Travers, Milton Okun, Noel Stookey, Elena Mezzetti) # "All My Trials" (traditional; arranged by Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey, Mary Travers) # "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" (Bob Dylan) # "Freight Train" (Elizabeth Cotten) # "Quit Your Low Down Ways" (Bob Dylan) # "Blowin' in the Wind" (Bob Dylan) 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「In the Wind」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
